In July 2022 we went into Rax Trax studios in Chicago to begin recording our second album. It had been 3 years since our last record in 2019, and during those three years the Covid pandemic knocked us on our asses.

We couldn’t play together, we couldn’t record (well, sort of), but...we could write tunes.

So we wrote, and wrote, and wrote. Larry our pianist wrote ‘Applause is Mandatory’, a banger specifically designed to bang. Neil wrote an arrangement of ‘We Are Pilots’ by Shiny Toy Guns, a semi-obscure alt rock band that shredded for 10 years then folded in 2013. Tim our bassist combined ‘Portrait of Tracy’ by Jaco Pastorius with ‘Rain’ by SWV in a dreamy mashup.

As for an album title, we thought long and hard and decided the best one was...New Nostalgia.

Why self-titled? Well, this record is the next
step in our journey - the same journey we started 8 years ago. It’s 12 tracks of carefully-crafted instrumental rock, jazz, pop punk, R&B, and avant-garde in our proprietary musical blender. Half originals, half covers. It goes both softer and harder, brighter and darker, smaller and bigger than anything before.

It’s our most ambitious musical statement yet, and we can’t wait to share it with you :)
